Selection Procedure

Post Process Description
Junior Hindi Translator Written Test with two papers. Paper-II will be evaluated only for those who qualify in Paper-I. Final merit is based on Paper-II scores.
Junior Secretariat Assistant Written exam + Typing test. Final merit list based on Paper-II scores (General Awareness & English), after qualifying in typing test (Hindi or English as per DoPT).
Junior Stenographer Written test + Stenography skill test. Final merit based on written exam for candidates qualifying the stenography proficiency.

Typing & Stenography Skill Test Norms

Post Minimum Skill Required
Junior Secretariat Assistant Typing speed of 35 w.p.m (English) or 30 w.p.m (Hindi) on computer (qualifying only). Up to 5% mistakes ignored for UR/OBC/EWS/SC, and 7% for ST/ExSM/PwBD.
Junior Stenographer Dictation: 10 minutes at 80 w.p.m in English/Hindi. Up to 7% mistakes allowed for UR, and 10% for reserved categories as per CSIR norms.
