Alternative Qualification Candidates holding a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from an institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council may also apply. Such candidates must be registered as Nurses and Midwives and must possess two years of experience in a minimum 50 bed hospital after obtaining the required qualification and registration. Age Limit The minimum age for applicants is 18 years and the maximum age is 30 years as on 16 March 2026. Age relaxation is applicable according to government rules for reserved categories including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Ex Servicemen, and Central Government employees.
Salary Structure Selected candidates will receive Pay Level 07 in the Central Government Pay Matrix. The pay structure corresponds to the pre revised Pay Band 2 ranging from ₹9,300 to ₹34,800 with a Grade Pay of ₹4,600. Additional allowances applicable to Central Government employees such as Dearness Allowance and House Rent Allowance may also be provided depending on the place of posting.
Reservation Note In participating AIIMS institutes, approximately eighty percent of the seats are reserved for female candidates and twenty percent for male candidates. Institute wise and category wise vacancy distribution is provided in the official notification released by AIIMS.
Selection Process The recruitment process consists of two stages of computer based testing. Stage I is the NORCET Preliminary examination containing 100 multiple choice questions to be completed within 90 minutes. Stage II is the NORCET Mains examination with 160 multiple choice questions to be completed within 180 minutes. Both stages include negative marking of one third marks for incorrect answers. Final selection is based on the merit obtained in the NORCET Mains examination along with document verification and eligibility checks.
