Credit History Requirements
  • You must have a clean credit history at the time of joining.
  • Minimum credit score will depend on the policy of the bank you’re placed in.
  • If your report shows unpaid accounts, you must resolve them or get an NOC from lenders.
  • Final decision rests with the bank offering you the position.
  • This requirement does not apply to candidates without a bank account.
  • No need to meet this requirement at the application stage.

Exam Syllabus

IBPS PO/MT 2025 Exam Pattern

The selection process for IBPS Probationary Officer/Management Trainee includes three stages—Preliminary Examination, Main Examination (Objective + Descriptive), and Personality Test followed by an Interview. Candidates must perform well at each stage to progress further. Below is the detailed pattern:

1. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)

Note: The Descriptive Test will assess writing skills and may focus on current events, economics, technology, banking reforms, or ethical issues. Evaluation may use automated scoring for writing quality and structure.

3. Personality Test (Non-Qualifying)

Candidates who qualify in the Main Examination must appear for a Personality Test. This includes a self-report questionnaire that will be placed before the Interview Panel. While not scored, this test is compulsory for progression to the interview stage.

Important Instructions

  • Candidates must carry a valid call letter and original photo identity proof to the exam center.
  • Late arrivals will not be permitted inside the exam hall under any circumstances.
  • The Preliminary exam duration is 60 minutes, but candidates should expect to stay at the venue for about 2 hours.
  • For the Main exam, the total time is 3 hours 10 minutes, but the process may require about 4 hours including verification and instructions.

Negative Marking

For every incorrect answer in Objective Tests, 0.25 marks will be deducted. There is no penalty for unattempted questions.

Cut-Off & Shortlisting

To move to the next stage, candidates must meet the minimum qualifying score for each section and the overall aggregate. Shortlisting is based solely on Main Examination scores. These scores are also used for final merit listing.

Score Normalization

Scores will be normalized using the equi-percentile method. Final marks will be calculated up to two decimal places for accuracy and fairness.
